details\u2014including the \u201cX factor\u201d that helped her succeed without overcomplicating the launch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">Let\u2019s check it out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><strong><span class=\"c7\">The Client:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Jen Evangelista, founder of\u00a0<span class=\"c8\"><a class=\"c6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.graceincolor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grace in Color<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><strong><span class=\"c7\">The Product:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"c8\"><a class=\"c6\" href=\"https:\/\/sojoacademy.com\/join-sojo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sojo Academy<\/a><\/span><span class=\"c1\">, a membership site that provides monthly Bible studies, planning on re-launching Sojo Academy in June<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"c3 lst-kix_m0v9ey3iglce-0\">\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">Needed a plan\/structure for the launch<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"c3 lst-kix_m0v9ey3iglce-0\">\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">We coached her through our Simple Live Launch Playbook<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"c3 lst-kix_m0v9ey3iglce-0\">\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">Created new bonuses based on existing resources in the membership community<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"c3 lst-kix_m0v9ey3iglce-0\">\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">Included a price increase at the end to drive urgency<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c4\"><strong><span class=\"c0\">The Stats:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c3 lst-kix_jgyf31ei0dz4-0\">\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">She added 430 new customers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"c3 lst-kix_jgyf31ei0dz4-0\">\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">For a total of $18,675 in subscription sales (recurring at varying monthly, quarterly, and annual levels)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c4\"><strong><span class=\"c0\">Her Launch\u2019s \u201cX Factor\u201d:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">While the price increase definitely played a role, Jen was quick to mention that they\u2019ve continued getting steady sales at the higher price points after the launch (enrollment remains open outside of the launch windows).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">To me, the real X factor was something else\u2014a critical component that most online course creators and coaches neglect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">See, most think that growing their business boils down to 2 things:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c3 lst-kix_uwm6p822w1p0-0\">\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">Attracting leads<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c4 c5\"><span class=\"c1\">Monetizing them with a product<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">That\u2019s what works for most businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">But if you\u2019re selling a course or coaching (and Jen\u2019s membership site contains elements of both), there\u2019s a third component you need in order to sell it:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><strong><span class=\"c0\">Trust.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">When your product is based on teaching your skills or guiding your customers toward a result, you are selling YOU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">If the person you are offering your product to doesn\u2019t trust you, they\u2019ll never buy. Because they are buying YOU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">It\u2019s not the same with a software or consumer product. I don\u2019t have to fully trust the founder of Peloton in order to buy. I\u2019m not buying his personal expertise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">But if I\u2019m thinking of joining a membership site where Jen will help me grow in my faith and I don\u2019t trust Jen&#8230;I\u2019ll never buy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">So how do you build trust?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><strong><span class=\"c0\">Teach.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">And guess what? There\u2019s a simple plan for that, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">A few months back, we helped Jen implement our Simple Content Plan so she could deliver consistent, valuable content to her audience. Now, she believes it was one of the biggest reasons the launch succeeded. We provide value 3-4 times a month in the form of devotional emails and resources that we trust.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">You can build trust with your audience with as little as 3-4 emails per month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c1\">And when you do that consistently, you don\u2019t need a fancy launch in order to gain 430 new customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><strong><span class=\"c0\">What Jen Said:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><em><span class=\"c9\">\u201cI&#8217;ve been a coaching student at Growth University since before it was named that :).
