Then, she partnered with them to get her business featured to those audiences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">There were 2 types of partnerships Chaitra focused on:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol class=\"c7 lst-kix_nfeza5qq470o-0 start\" start=\"1\">\n<li class=\"c1 c4 li-bullet-0\"><strong><span class=\"c9\">Podcast interviews<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"c0\">\u00a0&#8211; She pitched podcasts that her target customers listen to on interviewing her about product photography.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol class=\"c7 lst-kix_nfeza5qq470o-0\" start=\"2\">\n<li class=\"c1 c4 li-bullet-0\"><strong><span class=\"c9\">Guest workshops<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"c0\">\u00a0&#8211; She pitched businesses and influencers who serve her target customers differently on co-hosting online trainings about product photography or Shopify store design.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"c1\"><strong><span class=\"c8\">The Results:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">With partnerships as her #1 growth strategy, Chaitra was able to generate:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c7 lst-kix_5gqm5s9tr8co-0 start\">\n<li class=\"c1 c4 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">$75k-80k in revenue from Shopify design projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c1 c4 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">~$24k in sales of her online course<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">That\u2019s a great year for many businesses even when they\u2019re not having to start from scratch!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">Now, let\u2019s take a closer look at the types of partnerships that have fueled Chaitra\u2019s growth:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h.7dlntn3vqe3v\" class=\"c3\"><span class=\"c12\">Partnership Type #1: Podcast Interviews<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">When Chaitra started listing out her dream partnership targets, it didn\u2019t take her long to think of a company called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.privy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Privy<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">Privy is a software company that makes a variety of marketing tools for ecommerce stores. They have the #1 most reviewed platform in the entire Shopify app store. In other words, they have TONS of users who would be perfect fits for Chaitra\u2019s products and services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/L4qr2JcM2Z7P8CV2dnwpZSlBY8HnfccMetx_t7DCIy5Ht08QvRX4KORMnCUj_HGfEkMDYX_z8Xt5Jkr-lg_18CeIbfX0Qf8eXpwcxp-gBjnY7cgTrLTnJEQV_2yZY6xR--TZ0bpX\" alt=\"\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/L4qr2JcM2Z7P8CV2dnwpZSlBY8HnfccMetx_t7DCIy5Ht08QvRX4KORMnCUj_HGfEkMDYX_z8Xt5Jkr-lg_18CeIbfX0Qf8eXpwcxp-gBjnY7cgTrLTnJEQV_2yZY6xR--TZ0bpX\" alt=\"\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">At the beginning of 2020, Privy also launched a podcast called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.privy.com\/ecommerce-marketing-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Ecommerce Marketing Show<\/a> that quickly established a reputation as one of the best ecommerce podcasts available:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/eSc9YhO5JwwenEuNIaTTcnGzfrdZ3HD9Qz16cDXn5uEoFZcqugDt3zQgXbaJMDGe3WCDRXouelBnRQ2vw5OKFflWlhDhqeL6A1IAWuLdGMbE4L8YGpLtc9Dldkq3cz91qP5Pa5rf\" alt=\"\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/eSc9YhO5JwwenEuNIaTTcnGzfrdZ3HD9Qz16cDXn5uEoFZcqugDt3zQgXbaJMDGe3WCDRXouelBnRQ2vw5OKFflWlhDhqeL6A1IAWuLdGMbE4L8YGpLtc9Dldkq3cz91qP5Pa5rf\" alt=\"\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">It doesn\u2019t take a genius to figure out that getting interviewed on this podcast would be a pretty big deal for any business owner in the ecommerce space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">Chaitra was planning to wait a little before pitching such a high-profile company, but then she saw an opportunity:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">The CEO of the company posted in a Facebook group asking who they should interview on the podcast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">Chaitra may not have had the most experience, but she knew that:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol class=\"c7 lst-kix_1p6ins49bawe-0 start\" start=\"1\">\n<li class=\"c1 c4 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">She had the knowledge of product photography&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c1 c4 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">Privy has an audience that would benefit from that knowledge\u2014b<\/span><span class=\"c0\">ecause all online shop owners need great product photos to stand out<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">In other words, she knew it would be a win-win. And that\u2019s what gave her the confidence to leave a comment suggesting herself as a guest:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">\u201cI said, \u2018I saw you were looking for podcast guests and I think I would be great because I can teach your audience about product photography, which will help them increase sales.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">That\u2019s all it took to get the conversation going. It was a 5-figure project. And she was telling me, \u2018You know what, I was deciding who to hire for the Shopify project. I just clicked on your Instagram and I saw that you were on that book, and my husband was like, \u2018She is your girl, you\u2019ve got to hire her because Privy is a big deal.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is another great example of the &#8220;halo effect&#8221; that <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.growthtools.com\/blog\/podcast-interviews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dustin Riechmann described when sharing about his own experience driving $30,000+ in sales from podcast interviews.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">It&#8217;s such a powerful medium that you never know where it will take you. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">In fact, podcast appearances can be so meaningful to your potential customers and clients that they literally show up in testimonials on the Pinkpot Studio website. They\u2019re complementary businesses rather than competing businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">When you&#8217;re able to get in front of the right audience for a guest workshop, the results are powerful. For example, in addition to generating online course sales, Chaitra said she would typically end up getting inquiries for website projects as well (even though she wasn&#8217;t pitching that service directly):<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">\u201cEvery time I would finish a partnership webinar, I would have three new inquiries in my inbox for Shopify websites,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><strong><span class=\"c0\">So, how did Chaitra find businesses to target for partnerships?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c1\"><span class=\"c0\">One of her go-to strategies was to look for business owners who had spoken at the same events as her.
