In fact, he literally had customers telling him he needed to do it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">It\u2019s a good problem to have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">But how do you actually go about doing it?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">Do you just increase the price on your website and cross your fingers?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">Only if you want to leave a bunch of sales on the table.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">Instead, the smart move is to implement a Price Increase Campaign \u2014 one last chance for your audience to get your product at its current price before the increase hits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">It\u2019s like offering a discount without offering a discount. And it works like a charm.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h.lp5loqtogkj3\" class=\"c12\"><span class=\"c13\">How to Announce Your Price Increase with 5 Simple Emails<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">A Price Increase Campaign has 3 jobs:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol class=\"c6 lst-kix_2a7ke3swoamz-0 start\" start=\"1\">\n<li class=\"c2 c3 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">Create urgency<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c2 c3 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">Explain why the price is increasing<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c2 c3 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">Prove the product is effective<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">Fulfilling the first job is easy. All you have to do is announce the price change and communicate that the current (much lower) price will only be available for a few more days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">That remaining number of days defines your campaign structure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">In Will\u2019s case, he kicked off the campaign on a Monday and announced the price would be increasing on Friday at midnight. That\u2019s the power of savings + urgency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><strong>Pro Tip:<\/strong> In later emails, Will specifies how much money people can save by purchasing before the price increase. I\u2019d recommend doing that in Email 1 as well. For example, he could have tweaked the last line above to read, \u201cWith that in mind, now\u2019s your opportunity to\u00a0<span class=\"c9\">save $100 by placing an order before the price goes up.<\/span><span class=\"c0\">\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\">Of course, people will naturally question\u00a0<span class=\"c11\">why\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"c0\">the price is going up. And \u201cbecause I haven\u2019t been charging enough for it\u201d isn\u2019t the best possible answer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">That\u2019s why Email 2\u2019s job is to communicate one (or both) of the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"c6 lst-kix_i51ck3vneq91-0 start\">\n<li class=\"c2 c3 li-bullet-0\"><span class=\"c0\">You\u2019ve made recent upgrades to the product<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"c2 c3 li-bullet-0\">You\u2019re\u00a0<span class=\"c11\">planning\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"c0\">to upgrade the product<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">These upgrades don\u2019t have to be major or even that specific. For example, check out how Will described them in his second email:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/IXAuF7GPYT_thnUgd7XlWO6KR_fnMGYQxqh4-K_DLZhPpFIFOuqh7zNIbA59TnJaprwvdRTPWq4qnYB2cnMj_vzmo06whFq5gn94CPE-Q3McHtwf--iZ0vBIZxIo5TTu87CCLPwKj9te5C83rMSAST8\" alt=\"\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/IXAuF7GPYT_thnUgd7XlWO6KR_fnMGYQxqh4-K_DLZhPpFIFOuqh7zNIbA59TnJaprwvdRTPWq4qnYB2cnMj_vzmo06whFq5gn94CPE-Q3McHtwf--iZ0vBIZxIo5TTu87CCLPwKj9te5C83rMSAST8\" alt=\"\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">It\u2019s clear in the first section that Will provides a lot of hands-on value to his customers \u2014 direct access via Discord, interaction in the comments of each lesson, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">The second section explains that the price increase will allow him to dedicate even more time to supporting customers and creating even better content going forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">It might seem small, but showing people your price increase isn\u2019t arbitrary goes a long way toward preserving their trust.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c9\">Important:<\/span><span class=\"c0\">\u00a0Don\u2019t promise a higher level of support\/interaction if you don\u2019t plan on delivering it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">As for the third ingredient (proving the product\u2019s effectiveness), this can be accomplished with case studies, testimonials, and other forms of social proof.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">For Will, it was as simple as building Email 3 around a handful of testimonials:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/O9moIx_itGGGF0bAFPLZO2emGliqrxquXADD9hxmv1H-99EuTvrYz53w7-43BH2YdYnHXozXLq0_-w2AVT78kSfQHCjsxywNzkkgHr27EJjTW7LP-Bbv2M_89hFVqFdRXBIqZu2ebpGehtBB9QBmkUM\" alt=\"\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/O9moIx_itGGGF0bAFPLZO2emGliqrxquXADD9hxmv1H-99EuTvrYz53w7-43BH2YdYnHXozXLq0_-w2AVT78kSfQHCjsxywNzkkgHr27EJjTW7LP-Bbv2M_89hFVqFdRXBIqZu2ebpGehtBB9QBmkUM\" alt=\"\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">Notice how results-driven that final testimonial is. Remember when I said Will was undercharging? This is why.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c0\">Michael Z. landed a career-changing job because of Will\u2019s course.
